This is a roster of men recruited by Asa Richardson for service in the U.S. Army 6th Infantry Regiment from December 1830 to April 1831. The 6th Infantry Regiment was garrisoned primarily at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri from 1831 to 1835. During this time it was deployed in the Black Hawk War, being engaged in the Battle of Bad Axe River, August 2, 1832. The document provides information relative to the physical characteristics, occupation, birthplace, and enlistment bounty paid to each recruit.
